Dating vintage gibson acoustics
Hi Everyone, If you don't know anything about us; we are located in sunny Port Melbourne, Australia, and we offer a great selection of vintage and cool guitars, amps and pedals.
We will give you a great price on electric and acoustic Gibson guitars.
Exceptions: Some high-end models and lap steels from 1939-1940 have been added the letter A, to the prefixes D, E or F.
This new function will try to match the serial number against older formats, details required for an exact match are listed in yellow.
The only difference is the addition of this batch indicator.
Les Paul Classic: This model features an ink stamped serial number with no “MADE IN USA” (just as we used on the original 1952-1960 Les Pauls).
Initially, the Gibson J45 guitar differed only slightly from the discontinued J-35.
Internal contruction changes from the J-35 included top bracing strenghtened slightly with 1" set "X" brace behind the soundhole, tall and thin back braces, and most importantly, scalloped tall and thin top braces.
